How does mud skipper breathes?

Mudskippers breathe primarily through their skin and the lining of their mouths and gills, allowing them to absorb oxygen from both air and water. When out of water, they can retain moisture in their gill chambers, which facilitates respiration. Additionally, they use their ability to gulp air and store it in their gill sacs, enabling them to remain active on land. This adaptation allows them to thrive in intertidal environments where they often come out of the water.
