A political region can be described as an area where a certain type or kind politics or a political tendency that favors a certain type of economic policies. Here are a few examples of this as there are many so-called political regions.

* In Europe, many of the strongest economic nations as well as smaller ones formed the European Union. The EU is a political region where the members European nations decided to formulate a free trading zoneand to help accomplish that, a political region based on economics has a common currency, the Euro Dollar.

* In the United States, as another example, has strong political voting tendencies that can be called political regions. The area of the Southern and some midwestern States form a political region that will normally vote Republican in national elections.
