Why were the Aztecs hated by their neighbor?

they were hated becuase they took over many indiginous groups, and either killed them, or took them over. they also made them pay taxes called "terifs" which had to be paid. their neighbors, the taxcala hated them because they new the aztecs would eventually try and take them over, or kill the, or use them as sacrifices to their gods.
