Both are almost same in the broad view. But the exact difference lays in extending the credit facilities, OD, Purchase / Sale of stocks and the most important subject is the permissible maximum amount that can be utilised for above purposes in a business day. In a large city where the average income of the clientale / Industries count a lot for deposits and withdrwals and other utilities. Also the Government Department Accounts count a lot and non performing assets / loans is in the other end...this is due to sick units/ incomplete works of certain important projects....

Branch banking is offices of the bank set up at different parts of the country offering full banking services and products. Unit banking is an arm of the bank or an associate.
