What was life like as a teen in Britain during World War 2?

Air raids were a constant threat in WWII London. Like in Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe, kids were taken to foster homes among the English countryside. If you were a teen aged boy, you would most likely be a soldier in the Allied Forces. If you were a teen aged girl, you would most likely be a nurse or help the cause. You would for sure be working to help the Allies.
