Did Grover Cleveland Agree with Slavery?

Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th President of the United States, did not support slavery. He was a member of the Democratic Party, which at the time had factions that differed on the issue, but Cleveland himself was not an advocate for slavery. He believed in the principles of the Constitution and was more focused on issues of governance and economic policy. Cleveland's presidency came after the Civil War and during the Reconstruction era, where slavery had been abolished.
