How does spottedleaf die for the second time?

Spottedleaf died in the first book (Into the Wild) when Clawface killed her as she was trying to protect Frostfur's kits from the invasion. During the final book (The Last Hope), she is killed by Mapleshade during the final battle and fades away to nothing.
