Why is science considered to be a combination of information and process?

This question. THIS question. It haunts me. Every night before I sleep, before I close my eyes. There is no escape, it taunts me. All day at work i rake at my brain trying to answer this old-as-time question. I feel my sanity deteriorating as i slowly try to detach each branch that contributes to the painful hole this question forms in my head. I silently scream as a small voice in my head batters me for answers 'Why is science considered to be a combination of information and process?' it calls at me. I don't know. I will never know. And that is something i will have to live with for the rest of my life.
