Where in the Bible does it say that when you die you do not go to heaven?

In Ecclesiastes 3:19-20, it describes that when people (& even animals) die, they return "to the dust" a.k.a. break down to the bare elements they were created from and cease to exist. The same thing was told to Adam in Eden after he and Eve sinned. (Genesis 3:19) During this breakdown process, the person knows/feels nothing; completely unconscious. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 & 10)

So who does go to Heaven? The Bible states that only 144,000 people, all who are chosen by Jehovah God and Jesus, will be going to Heaven. (Revelation 14:1-4) That begs the obvious questions: Does that mean that there will only ever be 144,000 righteous people? If not, what happens to everyone else that was righteous? What about those that died who knew nothing about any of this?

The rest of the righteous people throughout history that have died, along with all that died with no knowledge of Jehovah and His principles or the Christ (a.k.a. "the unrighteous") will be resurrected to life on Earth in the future. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28-29) This was made possible by the sacrifice that Christ had made when he died for the sins of all people. (John 3:16) The Earth that people will be brought back to life on will be perfect, devoid of evil people (& even Satan) that cause problems today. (Psalms 37:10, 11, 28 & 29) Even death itself during that time will no longer be an issue, along with anything else that causes people grief. (Revelation 21:4)
