Does riddex hurt hamsters

There is some debate whether it will do anything at all. The device emits an ultrasonic whistle that is supposed to scare off mice and bugs but some people have found bugs have crawled up inside the unit. Watch the hamster and move the cage or move the unit if he starts getting agitated.
