Who was La YoDona?

La Yodona (the weeping woman) was a beautiful woman named Maria. She met a man and fell madly in love with him. they got married and had three kids. He said he was going away on a trip. He left and got married with another woman. This made her furious. She went to a lake and threw her kids into the water. The next day she went to the lake and cried " Mis ninos, mis ninos" (my children my children). She fell and hit her head on a rock and died. Now she haunts lakes in Mexico.
