Why is it important to know the area of a circle?

Because you might have to measure a cylider, such as the capacity of fluid oz's in a can of soda and maybe you have a room and it's shaped as a circle u might wanna find how much carpet u need...? sorry, im not sure if I'm helping! :( I covered area 3 years ago!!
