How many toes does chooks have?

Most chickens have four toes.

However, the following breeds have five toes:

• Dorking
• Faverolle
• Houden
• Sultan
• Non-bearded Silkie Bantams

The fifth toe of a chicken projects upward and never touches the ground.

Many birds have only three toes, and the ostrich has two.
