On a 1994 ford ranger the crank position sensor it brakes the magnet off the sensor and there is not enough adjustment to stop it how can you stop that?

On a 4.0 V-6 the crank position sensor is in a fixed location and cannot come in contact with the crank if it is installed correctly.
