How did Elie change physically emotionally and spiritually by the end of the first night?

Eliezer was a 12 year old boy who loved Judaism, he completely believed in G-d. In the day he studied Talmud and at night he went to Temple. He believe that G-d was everything and everywhere. Eliezer had complete faith and belief to G-d. However when he got send to the concentration camp his faith decreases. He could not understand nor believe how G-d could let something so horrible happened. Eliezer started to have doubts that G-d existed, but he did not loos all his faith.
