Is there more grains of sand or drops of water on the earth?

More drops of water due to the fact that the ocean is hundreds of miles deep. Sand is only on the surface. Water also makes up 3/4 of the world

... At its deepest point, the ocean is only 7 miles deep. The average depth is about 2-1/2 miles. But still:

According to the USGS, there are just shy of 1.4 billion cubic kilometers of water on Earth from all sources. Each cubic km contains 10^15 milliliters. A "drop" is a rather imprecise measure, but let's use 16 drops per ml. So, all told, we're looking at approximately 2 * 10^25 drops of water. By some estimates, there are about 10^22 grains of sand on Earth. So there are a lot more drops of water than grains of sand.
