Advantages and disadvantages of using public transport?

While many people opt for cars or planes these days, there are both advantages and disadvantages to using a bus. It is generally much cheaper to use a bus than to travel by car or by plane. One also doesn't have to worry about keeping up with directions-- he/she can set back and let someone else do the driving. A big disadvantage is time. A bus ride takes much longer than a plane ride, and generally a lot longer than driving a car.
