The caravel was a type of ship used during the Age of Exploration, and while it wasn't a specific vessel, one of the most famous captains of a caravel was Christopher Columbus. He commanded the Niña, which was a caravel, during his first voyage to the Americas in 1492. Other notable explorers, such as Vasco da Gama and Prince Henry the Navigator, also utilized caravels in their expeditions.
