What are two types of parasites?

The two types of parasites are:- 1) Ectoparasites :- Parasites which live on the external surface of the host are called ectoparasites. Examples :-

1. Animals - Ticks, Mosquitoes, Bed-bugs, Head louse, Leeches etc.

2. Plants - Cuscuta, Loranthus

2) Endoparasites :- Parasites living within the host are called endoparasites. Examples :-

1. Animals - Liverfluke, Tapeworm, Ascaris, Plasmodium

2. Plants - Many fungi.
