What are the new entry requirements for US citizens traveling to New Zealand?

As of October 1, 2019, US citizens traveling to New Zealand must have a valid electronic travel authority (ETA) before boarding their flight. This can be obtained online through the New Zealand Immigration website. Additionally, travelers must have a passport valid for at least three months beyond their intended departure date from New Zealand.
