In general, good writing has the following qualities:
- Focus - the writing should be about one topic, and not jump all over in a confusing manner
- Development - the story or paragraph should progress in a logical manner and lead the reader toward the end
- Unity - every part of the writing should pertain to the main idea
- Coherence - the writing should make sense to the reader and "flow" smoothly
- Correctness - the writing should be in proper English, with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
