What are the personal qualities of a writer?

In general, good writing has the following qualities:

• Focus - the writing should be about one topic, and not jump all over in a confusing manner
• Development - the story or paragraph should progress in a logical manner and lead the reader toward the end
• Unity - every part of the writing should pertain to the main idea
• Coherence - the writing should make sense to the reader and "flow" smoothly
• Correctness - the writing should be in proper English, with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
