Why does it take so long for bean pole and Henry to realize Will is sick in the White Mountains chapter 5?

Beanpole and Henry may not immediately realize that Will is sick in the White Mountains because they could attribute his symptoms to tiredness or the challenging conditions of their journey. Additionally, they may not be alert to the early signs of illness since they are focused on survival in a challenging environment. It may only become evident to them that Will is sick when his condition worsens or when they take a moment to closely observe his behavior and symptoms.
