How do you you reset radio on a 2002 Volkswagen Passat--control panel is completely black--tried the onoff switch--no response?

Check the fuse in the fuse box and then check the fuse on the back of the radio. Some VW radiOS have a 10A fuse in the back.

To remove the radio either use the VW special tools or take a credit card and cut it to the size of the slots at the front. Push the tools into the slots and it unlocks the radio.
