Is there a code for a DISH remote to operate a Magnavox DVDVCR combo -- Neither DISH nor FUNAI corp had access to one.?

purchased magnavox dtv digital to analog converter box.

get all the channels except #7. I live in Chicago area. is there something wrong with the box. have done all recommended from instructions.

do I need a differnet converter box? am at a loss for what to do. my son gets #7 on his set at home.

seems like #7 does not come thru the box. if unhook it i get it. why does it not come thru box? any help i can get would be appreciated.
