Importance of religion in the KKK?

KKK members assume the mantle of Protestant Christian. In fact, however, they

are not true Christians. They're just a bunch of evil, wussy stunted white guys

who wear juvenile costumes, hate most everything different from themselves, and

often delude themselves and each other into the belief that violence in the pursuit

of their nonsense is a virtue. In their gang, religion defines a target more often

than an objective. They are some of the worst our country has to offer, evolved

almost to simian perfection.
