How many times in a lifetime is a person fired?

That's about as variable as a figure can be. I once read that almost everyone is fired at least once in their lives (the overwhelming majority of those are probably when they are teenagers)

but I am 61, and have never been fired from a job. I was laid off once, but hired back in a new position two weeks later.
