The 33rd President of the United States was Harry S. Truman. He was the Vice President elected with Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944, and succeeded to the Presidency when FDR died. Truman was re-elected in 1948, serving as President from April 12, 1945 to January 20, 1953.
