What shoulder did James Monroe get shot in?

James Monroe was never shot; however, he did sustain wounds during his military service in the Revolutionary War. He was injured at the Battle of Trenton in 1776 when he was shot in the shoulder. This injury left him with a lasting disability in that arm.
