The condensate or "con" trail. There can be two sources. Water is a significant component of efficient fossil fuel combustion. When this hot water (essentially dry steam) exits the plane's engine it cools and condenses into small water droplets that look like long straight clouds. Also, moisture in the air flowing around the wing tip can compress and expand again, showing up as a thin streak of cloud.
