How much of the gratuities does a cruise ship employee get?

Cruise lines have different rules for gratuities. In some cases the gratuities are included in the price of the cruise, what is known as a cover charge in hotels and restaurants. With others it is the decision of the customer to pay gratuities for the services provided.

There will usually be a clause in the employees contract concerning gratuities.
