How many horse breed organizations are there in the U.S.?

There a quite a few. Here are some. AQHA, quarter horse, APHA, paints, ApHA, appaloosa, The Tennisee Walker, Saddlebreds, Spotted Saddlebreds, Morgans, and the list goes on. These organizations maintain the breeds records, registers new foals, and promotes their respective breeds.
