The brightness of a light bulb is inversely related to its resistance. A lower resistance allows more current to flow through the bulb, which increases the power (and thus brightness) as described by the formula (P = I^2R) or (P = V^2/R), where (P) is power, (I) is current, (R) is resistance, and (V) is voltage. Conversely, a higher resistance limits current flow, resulting in less power and a dimmer bulb. Therefore, for a given voltage, bulbs with lower resistance will generally be brighter.
