What the word Africa mean?

Contrary to what many people imagine, Africa is not a country. It is a continent composed of many different countries. And the countries are very very different. Egypt is a country in Africa. So is Morocco. And Ethiopia. And Kenya. South Africa. Nigeria. Burkina Faso. And many others.

Africa is surrounded by the Meditteranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian ocean, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, which severed the land bridge over the Suez peninsula which used to connect Africa to Asia.
