He possibly has feelings towards whatever they may be on his end. However, if it has been 6yrs gone and you still converse as well as have a sexual relationship you are giving him what he wants (so to speak) without any ties or commitment but also allowing him the option to date elsewhere, sleep elsewhere etc. This is very unhealthy for both of you. You need to determine boundaries and the basis of your friendship or relationship before this continues. This way you will know if you are to move forward and allow yourself to get over this individual not wait around for what may never be. Do what is best for you.
