One view
Most Christians would agree with the statement, believing that God will ultimately punish all sinners by casting them into hell. Whether earthly suffering is divine punishment is debatable inalmost every case.
You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

However, Christianity also teaches that all men are sinners, and thus worthy of eternal damnation. However, by repenting and asking God for mercy,a man'ssins are forgiven and he escapes the punishment due him.
