  • body parts are given some numbers [mostly 9 in case of adults].
  • so when someone gets burnt we add up the numbers and roughly predict how much of his/her body burnt [you need to a formula to calculate]
  • we need this calculation to determine how much fluid needed to be given to that person.Hope this helps.
