The symbol of Uranus

There are two symbols for the planet Uranus in Astrology. The most common one is that of an H with a line drawn down the center ending in a circle. This comes from Herschel, the name of the astronomer that found the planet in 1781. The other is a combination of the symbol for the Sun (a circle with a dot in the center) and Mars (a circle with an arrow pointing upward). This comes from Greek mythology in which Ouranus, the sky god, was thought to be a combination of the powers of the Sun and Mars.
