Villiens, or serfs in medieval Europe, primarily worked as agricultural laborers on the land owned by a lord or noble. Their duties included plowing fields, planting and harvesting crops, and tending to livestock. In addition to farming, they often performed various household tasks and maintained the lord's estate. In return, they received protection and a small plot of land for their own use, along with other basic necessities.
