How long was Moses on the scene before the Neanderthal was discovered?

The Neanderthal was not discovered while Moses was alive. Moses would have died around 1441BC. The first remains of Neanderthal man (the top of a skull) were discovered in 1856 in the Neander Gorge near Dusseldorf in Germany. This makes a time gap of 3297 years.
