Who was on the American dime before JFK?

Before John F. Kennedy was featured on the American dime, the coin depicted Franklin D. Roosevelt. Roosevelt's image was first introduced in 1946, shortly after his death, to honor his contributions, particularly in founding the March of Dimes, a charity aimed at combating polio. The design remained until 1965 when the Kennedy dime was introduced following his assassination.
