How did the manifest destiny influence American growth?

Manifest Destiny is the idea that the land you want is given to you by God. That it is your destiny to fulfill what God has given. When a population of people thinks this way they will search for any means possible to make it true. With the invention of the steam train and the coverage across the country of trains from west to east coast it became easier to grow and add in, homestead acts, land rushes, and the CA gold rush the western movement of people just kept growing. It was destiny and God wanted them to do it.
