When will Barack Obama move into the White house?

This question was originally asked back in 2008: the answer is that the election takes place in early November, and then the new president officially takes office several months later, on January 20th. In the case of Mr. Obama, on November 4, 2008, he won the presidency, and he officially became the occupant of the White House on January 20, 2009.
