Singular nouns are Words for one person, place, or thing. Examples of singular nouns are:

Person

  • teacher, mother, Abraham Lincoln, doctor, cashier, SpongeBob SquarePants.

Place

  • city, Belgium, Mt. Everest, park, downtown, countryside.

Thing

  • Apple, dog, calendar, Empire State Building, London Bridge, tree.

For countable nouns:

Apple, book, child, goose, bicycle, elephant, cookie, person, toy, girl, man, lady, car, house, life, etc.

For uncountable/mass nouns, they are always singular and don't have a plural form:

water, bread, salt, sugar, hair, meat, bread, sauce, etc.
