What are olden day TVs made from?

TV was not made until the late 40's and sold to the public in the early 50's.. They were metal, glass, a bit of plastic, wires, and had a picture tube. This was well before transistors, so people would take the tubes out of the back of the TV, test them, and replace the burned out tube.
