Why would a business want to use what if analysis?

They use it to find out what happens in different situations based on actions they would take. There are lots of factors in a business, like price of an item, amount to be paid to workers, exchange rates, amounts of items to sell etc. Using What If analysis they can do things like find out what happens if they make a certain quantity of an item, selling it at a certain price, paying their staff a certain rate. They can then compare different values in these to see what differences it makes. So it could be something like what if we sell the item at this price and pay our staff this much, how much profit would we make? They could then try different values to see the difference and make decisions based on the results they get.
