What is a JC horse?

The acronym 'JC' refers to the Jockey Club, which is the registration database for Thoroughbred horses. As the name suggests, the Jockey Club's primary interest is in promoting and developing the Thoroughbred as a racehorse, but any registered Thoroughbred will be a JC horse, whether they showjump, trail ride, race, whatever.
