Yes. Baking soda is fine for an acid reducer as long as it is done in moderation. I have certainly used it in a pinch. However, if your acid reflux comes up into your mouth, (yuck, it happens to me to much), see a doctor. This could be a condition that may be a symptom of something else going on.

Baking soda is a salt and helps to neutralize the acid pH or at least balancing the pH in your stomach. Someone suggested pickle juice to me. It didn't work.
