Instantaneous creation is the act of a being (usually a non-corporeal being or NCB) causing something to begin to exist without any raw materials or physical processes.
Generally, there are three beliefs that most people have for how all of the species of Earth began to exist:
- Creationists believe that God, the Supreme Being Who entered into a covenant with Abraham, father of Isaac, and his descendants thousands of years ago, caused all species to begin to exist simply by saying so, as recorded in the first chapter of the first book of The Bible.
- Evolutionists believe that each species came to be one at a time over hundreds of millions of years due to genetic mutations and the process of natural selection, as described by Charles Darwin in his book On the Origin of Species, without the direct involvement of the Supreme Being.
- The third group believes that the Supreme Being caused all species to begin to exist though mutations and the process of natural selection, and that the times given in the Biblical account of the Creation are merely symbolic.
