What did Frs.Jose Murguia and Tomas de la Peña do when they found Santa Clara?

When Father Jose Murguia and Father Tomas de la Peña found the site of what would become Santa Clara, they established a mission there to convert the local Native American population to Christianity. They also began building the Santa Clara Mission, which ultimately became one of the most successful of the California missions.
