How long does each stage of bullfighting last?

The first stage - picadores - perhaps 5 minutes or so. The same with the second stage - banderilleros. The final stage, the faena and kill, must last no more than 15 minutes or the bull will be returned to the corrals bringing great shame and embarassment on the matador. A Trumpet will sound after ten minutes as a warning, again after 3 more minutes. The final trumpet 2 minutes later.

The total time from when the bull first enters the ring until it is dead and drug out of the ring usually runs about 20 minutes.
